Music Composition in Cyberspace

The world is changing - fast. It seems that the more people network on a global scale, the smaller the world feels. Although Earth isn't shrinking (at least I don't think), the concept of traveling to Bangkok on GoogleEarth to check out the local restaurant scene is revolutionary.

The idea of small efforts resulting in big applications is something I'm just getting a hold of. I recently joined the Film Composers Collective (an online world-wide database of composers working simultaneously on a given project) which will probably replace the John Williams of big Hollywood film scores. In the future, if you stay for the credits, under "Music by," it could say, "The Film Composers Collective" - a bunch of music nerds who have never met in real life.

I have a ton of stuff going on including a choral piece, my senior project, another percussion duo, and a laundry list of compositions for the new Podcast drama "Rogue Tyger" with Team Jabberwocky Productions. *Phew* For RT my friend from Blue House Studios is going to assist me during the recording process - which is looking to be pretty extensive on my part. Opening/Closing themes and plenty of incidental music as the show (hopefully) airs over cyberspace frequencies.

Anyway, this idea of global music collaboration is in the testing phase so-to-speak. I suppose time will tell how it all works out. Wish me luck!
